Instant landscaping quotes

Get an instant landscaping quote

When you want the yard mowed before the weekend, a bed planted, or a new patio laid, you don't want to leave five voicemails and wait until next week for someone to swing by. You want a real price now, so you can decide who to call. The good news is that getting a fast landscaping estimate has gotten a lot easier. The quickest landscaping businesses no longer make you wait days. They send a real price by text within minutes of you describing the job.

Here is how an instant landscaping quote actually works, exactly what to include when you ask so you get a useful number the first time, and why the company that answers fastest is usually the one you want.

An instant quote is a real, human-approved price, not a random web calculator number. Tono is not open for landscaping businesses yet. When it is, a landscaping business using it will answer your price question in minutes, in their own words, with the owner approving the figure before it reaches you.

How an instant quote works

You describe the job once. The business prices it from their own rates and texts you back, fast.
1

You describe it

You send the landscaping job through the business's quote link, with a couple of details and ideally a photo of the yard.

2

It's priced

The job is matched to that company's own rates for that kind of work. No made-up numbers, no generic calculator.

3

The owner approves

The landscaper gets the suggested price by link now, and by text once our US line clears, then confirms or adjusts it in seconds, even out on a site.

4

You get a price

A clear quote lands in your texts in minutes, while you're still deciding. No phone tag, no waiting.

AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT LANDS IN YOUR TEXTS
Thanks for the details on the front and back lawns. Based on the size you described, here's a price per visit to keep them cut and tidy. If you'd like the beds edged too, I can add that in.
a real, owner-approved number
Lawn mowing, per visit
$65
An example. The real range comes from the landscaper's own rates, never from us.

What to include when you ask

The more the landscaper knows up front, the more accurate the first number. A vague request gets a vague answer.
What you want done
Name the work and the area. "Mow the front and back lawn" or "plant a row of shrubs along the fence" tells a landscaper far more than "I need some yard work."
Roughly how big the area is
A small city lot and a half-acre yard are very different jobs. A rough size, even just "about the size of two parking spaces," helps the landscaper price it.
A photo or short video
One clear photo of the lawn, the overgrown bed, or the spot you want a patio often replaces ten questions and makes the quote much more accurate.
One-time or ongoing
Say whether you want a single cleanup or regular service. A weekly mow is priced differently from a one-off job, so being clear here keeps the quote honest.
Your address or area
Travel and local rates affect the price. Even just your neighborhood or zip lets the landscaper give a number that actually applies to you.

Typical landscaping price ranges

Real landscaping prices depend on the size of the yard, the condition it's in, and what you want done. A good landscaper holds a range until they have looked at the job, then gives you a firm number. What follows is what they are looking at.
Mowing: on a schedule, or a one-off
A regular schedule and a one-off after the grass has got long are priced differently, so say which you want. Lawn size and how much edging goes with it do the rest.
Cleanup: how much leaves the property
The volume of debris and whether hauling it away is included are what decide this. Ask about haulage; it is often quoted separately and it is not small.
Planting or sod: the plants, not the labor
The area you are covering matters, but the plants and the soil prep are most of it, and they are the part you choose. Mature plants change the number more than the crew does.
Patio or pavers: what is under the stone
Square footage and the material matter, but grading, base work and drainage matter more, and none of it is visible in a photograph of the finished patio.
Irrigation: a repair, or a system
A repair or one zone is bounded work. A full system for a larger yard is a project with a lot of trenching. What is already in the ground decides which you have.
Tree work: what is underneath it
A trim on a small shrub and removing a large tree near the house are different trades of job. Size, access and what is below it bring in the equipment and the risk.
None of this is your quote. The point of an instant quote is to turn a general answer like this into a real number for your specific yard. For a fuller breakdown, see the 2026 landscaping price guide.

Why the fast landscaper is usually the right call

Speed isn't just convenient. It tells you something real about the business.

You can decide sooner

A price in minutes means you can compare and book while you're still thinking about the yard, instead of losing a week waiting for callbacks that may never come.

It shows they're organized

A business that answers quickly and clearly tends to run the rest of the job the same way. Slow to quote often means slow to show up.

You get it in writing

A texted quote is a record. You can read it back, ask about a line, and there's no "that's not what I said on the phone" later.

A real number, not a bot guess

The best instant quotes are still approved by a person who knows the trade. You get speed without trading away an actual, accountable price.

An instant quote is a real price, fast.

Look for a landscaping business that lets you describe the job and texts back a clear number, not one that makes you wait on hold. Tono is not open for landscaping businesses yet. When it is, a landscaping business using it will answer in minutes, in their own voice, with the owner approving every quote.

Run a landscaping business?

Customers ask what it costs all day, and the first clear answer usually wins the job. Tono will answer them in your voice, with a price built from your own rates, while the lead is still warm. Tono prices plumbing, HVAC, electrical and roofing today, and yours is not open yet. We would rather say that than take your details and let you find out at the signup button. Leave your email and we will tell you when your trade is next.

Why this page has no price on it. It used to. The ranges were ours in the sense that we wrote them down, and they came from nowhere we could point at, which we only found when we went looking for the source. Almost every price range you can find for this work traces back to two or three lead-generation sites that quote each other, so five results agreeing is one source repeated five times. We are not willing to republish that and call it research, and we are not willing to print a number you would take to a tradesperson and be told it means nothing.

What we put here instead. For each job, the one thing that actually decides which end of the price you land on. That we do know, from building the questions a quoting engine has to ask, and it is the more useful half. A range you cannot use tells you nothing. Knowing which single question the price turns on lets you answer it before you are asked, and get a real number back in about a minute.

They are not what Tono prices with. When a business runs its quotes through Tono, every price comes from that business's own rate sheet. Nothing on this page feeds into it.
